Mage Macro Guide
 This guide contains most of the commonly used Mage macros in the World of
Warcraft. It can greatly increase your game speed for your mage character. Every mage
players should check these macros out.
Spammable Arcane Missiles
/cast [nochanneling:Arcane Missiles] Arcane Missiles
This macro lets the player press the button continuously without interrupting the
casting of Arcane Missiles.
Keep in mind that this is just a guide on creating macros so if
you're low on gold and want to learn how the pro gamers make crazy amounts of gold

Interrupt + Ice Lance
/stopcasting
/cast Ice Lance
Frost Mages would love this macro. It would stop the casting of any spell and cast
Ice Lance instead.
Pyroblast Opener
/cast [nocombat] Pyroblast; Fireball
When not in combat, this macro will cast Pyroblast. But when clicked during combat,
it will cast Fireball at the target.
Rank 1 Frostbolt (Kiting) Macro
/cast [mod:alt] Frostbolt(rank 1); Frostbolt
Hold Alt to cast a Frostbolt (Rank 1) for a faster snare or cast the maximum rank
for the spell with a normal click.
Arcane Explosion for Stealth Breaking
/cast [btn:2] Arcane Explosion(Rank 1); Arcane Explosion
A left click on this button would cast the max rank Arcane Explosion while a right
click would cast its rank 1.
Flamestrike/Blizzard
/cast [mod:alt] Flamestrike; Blizzard
A normal click would cast Blizzard while click with alt would cast
Flamestrike.
Mana Efficient Attack Routine
/castsequence reset=7 Arcane Blast, Scorch, Scorch, Scorch, Scorch
This spell sequence was made with mana efficiency in mind. It will cast Arcane Blast
plus 3 Scorches. If the macro is not pressed within seven seconds, it will reset back to
Arcane Blast. That’s enough time for the buff to fade out.
Presence of Mind + Arcane Power + Trinket Macro
/cast Presence of Mind
/stopcasting
/cast Arcane Power
/stopcasting
/use [Name of Trinket]
/stopcasting
/cast Pyroblast
This is the classic macro that casts Presence of Mind and Arcane Power and also uses
a trinket with one click. The only problem with this macro is that you can’t use it while
running. Well you can still use it while running but you need to press it twice.
Spammable Water Elemental Summon
/cast [nopet] Summon Water Elemental
/stopmacro [target=pettarget, exists]
/petattack
This macro will summon your Water Elemental. When you press it again, it will not
interrupt the summoning. Once the summoning is done, the pet would attack your
target.
One Button Summon/Freeze
/cast [nopet] Summon Water Elemental; Freeze
With just one button, you can summon your Water Elemental and activate its Freeze
spell.
Dismiss Pet
/run PetAbandon()
/cast Invisibility
This macro lets you dismiss your pet without using the dropdown pet menu.
Blink and Turn
/stopcasting
/cast Blink
/stopmacro [noharm]
/run FlipCameraYaw(180)
This macro can make escaping from dangerous spots easy. With a click, it would stop
casting and blinks the mage forward at once. If the target is an enemy, the macro would
automatically flip your camera angle 180 degrees.
Remove Curse
/cast [target=mouseover, help] [target=player] Remove Lesser Curse
The macro would cast Remove Lesser Curse on whoever your cursor is hovering on. If
the unit frame is a hostile target, the macro would remove the curse on self.
Instant Counterspell
/stopcasting
/cast Counterspell
This will stop any spell you’re casting and would instantly cast Counterspell.
