WoW Shaman Macros
Known for the large amount of actions you can perform in-game, World of Warcraft is currently
the most popular MMORPG worldwide, and its fame isn’t
dying down anytime soon. However, some people may get intimidated by the mechanics of the game when
they see the wide variety of actions they can perform, with each one having a different button or
hotkey. In order to combat the possibility of one’s screen being filled up with nothing but icons, macros have been incorporated into the
game. They are helpful to players because they combine multiple actions into one single button.
Keep in mind that this is just a guide on creating macros so if you're low on
gold and want to learn how the pro gamers make crazy amounts of gold then check out the top
gold making secrets at: Warcraft Millionaire. For those
just starting out and need an in game powerleveling guide 1-80 please refer to: Zygor's Guide which includes leveling from
1-80 in the shortest amount of time for both Horde and Alliance.
How To Make A New Macro
It is very easy for one to create their own desired macro. All they have to do is, while
playing, click on the main menu and then select “Macros”. When a new window pops up, he or she can
type the desired command. Typing “/macro” in the chat bar will also work.
Smart Mouseover Healing Macro
#showtooltip Lesser Healing Wave
/cast [help,exists] [target=mouseover,help,exists] [target=player] Lesser Healing Wave
A very useful macro that is designed in order for the shaman to cast a certain spell on the most
appropriate target. It allows the player to continue keeping his or her current target, while
healing someone who is friendly or the character itself. The macro still acts as a normal cast, and
can be edited to accommodate other spells, even offensive ones. It is a great shortcut for any
focused shaman player.
Lightning/Water Shield Macro
/cast [mod:alt] Water Shield; Lightning Shield
This macro clears up space in one’s hotbar and overall
screen by combining the Lightning Shield and Water Shield into one button. Left-clicking regularly
will cause one’s shaman to cast Lightning Shield,
while holding alt will produce a Water Shield.
Smart Mana Tide Totem With Notification Macro
#showtooltip Mana Tide Totem
/stopmacro [nocombat]
/script local u,m = IsUsableSpell("Mana Tide Totem") if u and not m and GetNumPartyMembers()
> 0 then SendChatMessage(" >>> Dropping Mana Tide <<<","PARTY") end
/cast Mana Tide Totem
This macro will cause the shaman to drop a Mana Tide Totem (as long as it is usable), and
immediately send a party message if the player is currently in a party or raid. This macro can be
edited to be a notification for other similar attacks and spells, and is extremely helpful in order
to alert the party of one’s actions.
One Button Weapon Enchants Macro
/use [nomodifier] Windfury Weapon; [modifier:alt] Rockbiter Weapon; [modifier:ctrl] Flametongue
Weapon; [modifier:shift] Frostbrand Weapon
Since shamans have a lot of spells that have to do with enchants and totems, one can easily save
space on the action bar by combining all forms of the four weapon chants available into one button
and simple action. Left-clicking the button is designated for Windfury Weapon, Alt for Rockbiter
Weapon, Ctrl for Flametongue Weapon and Shift for Frostbrand Weapon.
Anti-Spellcaster Macro
/stopcasting
/cast Earth Shock
Since spellcasters are formidable opponents of shamans, this macro is incredibly useful in PvP,
allowing shamans to immediately stop what they are doing and cast Earth Shock to interrupt a
magic-user who is preparing to cast.
Mount/Ghost Wolf Macro
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast [stance][combat,nomounted] Ghost Wolf;<mount name>
/dismount [mounted]
The player will be able to automatically use the mount when out of combat, and the ghost wolf
when in combat.
