Warlock Talent Builds
Warlock characters in World of Warcraft are some of the
toughest spellcasters available. Not only are they defensively stronger than Mages and Priests, a
Warlock character in World of Warcraft can be a very formidable enemy offensively – if you put a
little forethought into your Warlock talent builds. Here’s a
look at a few strategies to help you build a deadly Warlock.
If you're confused about how to spend your talent points
for your Warlock character. You can visit: Ulitmate wow guide where they
provided an in game talent build with the best specs for EVERY single
class.
Talent Trees for Warlocks
Like all WoW classes, Warlocks have three talent trees to choose from. These are:
Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction. The Affliction talents help a Warlock to strengthen their
debuffs and improve their offensive spells, the Demonology talents improve a Warlock’s demons, and
the Destruction talents, although a challenging talent tree, make your Warlock very powerful
offensively.
New players often make the mistake of choosing talents at random, without a
cohesive strategy for a long-term talent build. If you have already made this mistake with your
Warlock, you can Unlearn talents for a bit of gold. Then you can research the talent build that
suits your playing style best, and build your Warlock talent builds based on that.
Talent Build for PvP Warlocks
If your main interest is building a Warlock who can beat other players in PvP mode,
focus most of your talent points on the Affliction tree, with most of your points in Improved
Corruption so that you can later invest in Improved Life Tap and Soul Siphon. From there, pick up
Improved Fear, Fel Concentration, and then move on to Grim Reach, Nightfall, and Empowered
Corruption. On the next tier, add Shadow Embrace and Siphon Life, but don’t bother with the Curses.
Instead, go to Shadow Mastery, then Contagion and Dark Pact. Moving into the bottom tiers, pick up
Improved Howl of Terror, Death’s Embrace, Unstable Affliction, Everlasting Affliction, and finally
Haunt.
From the Demonology tree, invest fifteen points in the following: Improved
Healthstone, Demonic Embrace, Fel Vitality, Soul Link, Fel Domination, and Demonic Aegis. Finally,
spend five talent points in Destruction on Bane. This talent build is sometimes called by WoW heads
the “Haunt / Soul Link” build.
Talent Build for Raiding
In this Warlock talent builds, some of the PvP-oriented talents like Improved Fear
and Fel Concentration are dropped in order to gain Ruin faster. In this Affliction-based build,
focus on all the Affliction talents, but leave out: Frailty, Improved Drain Soul, Improved Fear,
the two Curses, Improved Felhunter, Dark Pact, and Improved Howl of Terror. Ignore the Demonology
tree altogether for this build. Instead, focus fifteen points on three talents from Destruction:
Improved Shadow Bolt, Bane, and Ruin.
The two builds above, of course, are just two of many. Some PvP Warlocks prefer to
focus on the Deomonolgy tree instead, leaving only a few points for Affliction and Destruction.
Still others use hybrid talent builds that are very successful for PvE playing styles. Again, the
talent build you choose depends upon your own playing preference – there’s not a best talent build,
but just make sure to do your Warlock talent builds homework before spending your talent
points at random. Or you can follow this step-by-step guide at Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide to get the best out of your
