WoW Hunter Builds
The Hunter class in World of Warcraft is quite
unique amongst RPG classes in general. Teamed up with his pet, the Hunter and his pet together, if
used properly, can deliver the highest Damage per Second (DPS) in the Warcraft game. Whats the best
way to go for WoW Hunter builds?
Well building a powerful, effective Hunter, however, depends upon wise use of talent points
as a Hunter talent build is constructed. Since the Hunter talent trees were recently
changed, do a little research on how to build your Hunter before you get started spending talent
points all over the place. Here’s a look at some talent build strategies for your Hunter
character.

Beast Mastery Builds for PvE Play
A 51 Beast Mastery / 10 Marksmanship / 0 Survival talent point spread is one good option which
maximizes the DPS you and your pet can do together. For this build, leave out the second tier of
Beast Mastery except for Focused Fire, and do the same with the third tier except for Unleashed
Fury. Pick up both Improved Mend Pet and Ferocity on the next tier, and Intimidation and Bestial
Discipline on the next. Then move on to Frenzy, Ferocious Inspiration, and Bestial Wrath; both
Invigoration and Serpent’s Swiftness; The Beast Within (ignore Longevity and Cobra Strikes); and
finally Kindred Spirits. For Marksmanship, focus your ten talent points on Improved Concussive
Shot, Focused Aim, Lethal Shots, and Improved Hunter’s Mark.
An alternative, more balanced Beast Mastery build for PvE play is a 53 Beast Mastery / 11
Marksmanship / 7 Survival build. In this build, in Beast Mastery focus on Endurance Training,
Focused Fire, Thick Hide, Aspect Mastery, Unleashed Fury, Improve Mend Pet, Ferocity, Spirit Bond,
Intimidation, Bestial Discipline, Frenzy, Ferocious Inspiration, Catlike Reflexes, Serpent’s
Swiftness, Cobra Strikes, Kindred Spirits, and Beast Mastery. In Marksmanship, focus on Lethal
Shots, Mortal Shots, and Aimed Shots. Finally, in Survival, invest all your points in Improved
Tracking and Survival Instincts.

Marksmanship Talent Builds
Marksmanship talent builds are not the most popular Hunter talent builds, but a Marksmanship
build can still be useful. A Marksmanship spec gives your Hunter character an ability to do damage
quickly, making questing a cinch. A Marksmanship spec also enables your Hunter to stay near the
back of a crowd in a raid and do damage from a distance, which can be useful for keeping your
Hunter alive. However, by choosing a Marksmanship talent build, your Hunter has to choose his pet
carefully – Ferocity pets, for example, are hard to keep alive without Beast Mastery talents.
With these advantages and disadvantages in mind, one possible Marksmanship talent build is a 32
Beast Mastery / 29 Marksmanship / 0 Survival build. In Beast Mastery, focus on these talents:
Improved Aspect of the Hawk, Endurance Training, Thick Hide, Improved Revive Pet, Pathfinding,
Aspect Mastery, Unleashed Fury, Improved Mend Pet, The Beast Within, Cobra Strikes, and Kindred
Spirits. In Marksmanship, focus on these: Improved Concussive Shot, Focused Aim, Lethal Shots,
Careful Aim, Improved Hunter’s Mark, Go for the Throat, Aimed Shot, Improved Stings, Efficiency,
Readiness, and Barrage.
Survival Talent Builds
Of the three talent trees, Survival is definitely the least popular amongst Hunters. For players
who wish to build a Hunter with a high DPS rate, a Beast Mastery build is better suited. What’s
more, if you choose a Survival build, make sure you have a high agility. Survival talent builds are
good if you wish to focus on a Hunter’s Crowd Control abilities.
One Survival build is a 10 Beast Mastery / 24 Marksmanship / 27 Survival. In the Survival tree,
focus all your talent points on perfecting the first three tiers, leaving out only Improved
Tracking.
